The “Devils” did not Drive Me Away
The worst con of substitute teaching was getting those unlucky classes of “devils” who treated you quite differently from their regular teacher. It was mostly the older students in middle and high school who gave you zero authority and zero respect. To these students, it was just a free day in which they could relax, not do any work, and act defiant if they don’t get their way. There are lesson plans left by the regular teacher, but whether or not the students will listen to my directions and finish the classwork is another story.
In my next post, I will continue to tell the true stories of the terrible pranks and jokes played on me by the “devils.” These were my most horrible days as a substitute teacher. These were the days when the “devils” played such cruel and tasteless jokes that you often wanted to quit your job.
